Who we are

Björn Önfelt, Associate Professor

shapeimage_2Björn has 15 years experience of interdisciplinary science. He has been working in Chemistry, Physics and Biology labs at several international schools and Universities including California Institute of Technology, Imperial College London and Karolinska Institutet. Since 2007 he is leading this multidisciplinary research group.

 


Thomas Frisk, Senior Researcher

Thomas F 2010Our microfabrication expert with almost 10 years in the field. He has been working at the Karolinska Institute as well as the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Thomas has been in the group since 2008.

 


Karolin Guldevall, Post Doc

karolin_guldevallAfter getting her ph.d. in the group, Karolin has returned to us to work on questions related to NK and T cells.

 

 


Sarah Thunberg, Post Doc

Sara defended her thesis successfully in 2008, and joined our group during the spring of 2015.

 

 

 

 


 

Elin Forslund, Post Doc

shapeimage_3After doing her Master Thesis in the group starting 2010 Elin has joined us as a PhD student to work on questions related to NK cell education and tolerance as well as micro contact printing. Having successfully defended her thesis during the spring of 2015, she will continue with research in the group.

 


Per Olofsson, PhD student

per_olofssonAfter doing his Master Thesis in the group starting 2011 Per has continued and is doing his PhD in the lab imaging NK cell migration tracking and surveillance in three dimensional (3D) collagen gels.

 


Johanna Tauriainen, PhD student

SONY DSCJohanna works on studying the effect of CD8 T cells in HIV infection and is a joint student with Annika Karlsson’s group at Lab Medicine at KI in Huddinge.

 


Ludwig Brant, PhD student

Ludwig_BrandtLudwig did his Master Thesis in the Cell Physics group. Ludwig started in our group 2014 and is doing his PhD in the lab screening NK cells.

 


Quentin Verron, PhD student

quentin-litenQuentin did his Master Thesis in the group and started his ph.d. studies during the spring of 2015.
